The 2025 Volvo EX30 arrives as the smallest member of the brand electric SUVs. It's also the most affordable, with a starting price of $36,145. Set to go on sale in the U.S. next summer, the EX30 gives Americans a much needed alternative to the throng of bigger EVs that are being introduced.
At 166.7 inches long and 61.1 inches tall, the new EX30 is smaller than Volvo's other subcompact SUVs, the C40 Recharge and XC Recharge.
The EX30 offers two powertrains: a 268-hp rear-drive configuration or a 422-hp all-wheel-drive setup.
Every EX30 has a 64.0-kWh battery that Volvo claims provides either 265 or 275 miles of range, depending on the powertrain.
Cool design details such as the EX30 split taillights and strong body lines make it look as stylish as it sustainable.
Starting with the entry-level Core, the EX30 lineup will include fancier Plus and Ultimate trim levels, and a rugged Cross Country version is also in the cards.
The EX30's new driver assists include an alert to prevent door-checking bicyclists, a more advanced driver-attention monitor, and a self-parking feature that's more competent than ever.
A vertical 12.3-inch touchscreen is the only display inside the EX30, and it uses Google's Android operating system but now includes standard Apple CarPlay.
A prominent Volvo badge and "Thor's Hammer" headlights ties the EX30's face to that of the larger, three-row EX90.
