Warne wants 'misfiring' Clarke to bat at No.5 to keep Ashes series alive

Sydney, August 03(ANI): Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne has insisted that skipper Michael Clarke should bat at No.5 instead of No. 4, if his side wants to keep the Ashes hopes alive when they will take on England in the fourth Test at Trent Bridge. Shaun Marsh, who is likely to be roped into the team in place of Adam Voges, could bat in either position when the fourth test begins from August 6. Warne insisted that the fourth match would turn out to be Clarke's moment if he bats at five with Marsh at number four. He further said that it would have the double advantage with Clarke playing in a position where he has a good record and Marsh, the left-hander, acting as a useful buffer between two key right-handers- Steve Smith and Clarke, News.com.au reported. Clarke, who has played the majority of his career at No 5, was moved up the order to fourth in 2013 and has largely struggled since. The captain has scored just 94 runs in six innings in the first three Ashes tests. England will aim to seal the five-match series after taking a 2-1 lead following an eight-wicket win over title holders Australia in Birmingham. (ANI)
