Warren O’Hora Hibs transfer latest as former Hibee to provide competition

Hibs could face competition from a familiar face in their pursuit of Warren O'Hora.

The former MK Dons defender has been named as a Hibees transfer target as they look to fill the glaring gaps at centre-back and improve on their defensive performance from last season under new boss David Gray. The 25-year-old is a free agent after leaving MK Dons earlier this summer.

The Easter Road side were this week credited with an interest in the Irishman with Rocky Bushiri and Riley Harbottle their only recognised centre halves, and the latter potentially free to move on after a loan at Colchester. Gray was said to be considering a free transfer swoop for O'Hora.

But it would seem they're not the only ones as Devon Live report Exeter City are also in the race. The Grecians are managed by former Hibs, Celtic and Scotland defender Gary Caldwell, who has already delved into the Scottish market by adding Jack McMillan from Partick Thistle in this window.

Zak Jules turned down Exeter's offer of a new deal and so they need to replace him, with O'Hora on their list. O'Hora signed for MK Dons from Brighton in 2021 and has been a regular ever since, making 177 appearances and scoring nine goals. He played as they lost 8-1 on aggregate to Crawley in the League Two play-offs at the end of last season

Caldwell is also said to be chasing the signing of Malachi Boateng. The Crystal Palace midfielder spent last season on loan at Dundee after a stint at Queen's Park.
