Warrington is the football accumulator hotbed of the UK

Data requested by Bonuscodebets.co.uk revealed that football fans in the Cheshire town of Warrington landed more low-stake football accumulators with payouts of over £5,000 than in any other part of the UK so far this season.

Narrowly behind Warrington was Ellesmere Port, with one highlight being a £6k payout from a 45p stake, as well a whopping £24k windfall from just £3. The Rhondda in South Wales was next thanks to a win of almost £10,000 from £3.

Wolverhampton was in fourth place and Barnet was the most successful London region in the country.

Small East Sussex coastal town Shoreham-by-Sea makes the list in 6th place with the highlight being a monster 12 leg football coupon yielding £32,000 from £5. Punters in Shoreham managed a greater win percentage on their big payout football accumulators than nearly all major city areas, including all parts of London except Barnet.

Bolton makes the list in 9th place, but tops the charts in terms most teams included thanks to a record-breaking 20 team winning acca placed at the start of the season, returning £12,220 from £2.

Only one area with a Premier League team made the top 10 in the shape of Southampton, while only 4 of the top 10 locations have a football league team in their patch.

Celtic, Newcastle, Chelsea & Bolton have been the most popular winning sides in football accumulators this season, with Manchester United, Everton and Norwich ranking as the biggest coupon busters.

The report is based on the proportion of winning bets placed which yielded over £5,000 as oppose to the overall number.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “Football fans in Warrington must be doing their homework, or there must be something in the water there at least as more of their long odds football accumulators have come good than anywhere else in the UK this year. Punters there clearly have the magic touch when it comes to big wins.”
