Double Grand Slam tennis champion Andy Murray was given the chance to shoot some hoops with one of his idols, Luol Deng, as the world famous sports stars hit the court in Miami.

As part of Standard Life’s ‘Mastering Your Dreams’ campaign, former Miami Heat season ticket holder Murray, the current world No.2 and reigning Olympic champion, took time out from his gruelling training schedule ahead of the recent Miami Open to meet his fellow 2012 GB Olympian Deng.

In ‘When Andy Met Luol Deng’, the pair talk about their dreams and aspirations for the future in their respective sports, as well as discovering they have a mutual love for Premier League side Arsenal.

Murray and basketball star Deng, who was born in Sudan but grew up in the UK before moving to the USA, share a relentless approach to achieving excellence. Even on the basketball court, Murray, who is more used to the grass courts of Wimbledon, aimed for perfection during his one-on-one with the two-time NBA All Star.

Deng put the Scot through some perfect free throws, the almost impossible half-court challenge and explained Steph Curry’s shooting technique, whilst 2012 US Open champion Murray taught him some racket skills.

Standard Life’s ‘Mastering Your Dreams’ campaign tells the story of Murray’s commitment to excellence and advancing ambition in pursuit of success. ‘When Andy Met Luol Deng’ is the first in a series that shows Murray meeting sports people he admires for their personal commitment to giving all it takes to master their dreams.
