England bid to defend their T20 World Cup crown as they head to the USA and West Indies.

Jos Buttler’s side produced a woeful defence of their 50-over title last year and know huge white-ball improvement is required here if they are to remain world champions.

A warm-up series win over Pakistan, despite some terrible weather, means England travel in high spirits ahead of their opening match against Scotland, before facing Australia, Oman and Namibia in Group B.

India are tournament favourites and are in the same group as Pakistan, with the two rivals going head-to-head in New York on June 9.

West Indies will be eyeing glory on home soil, backing themselves to come through a group with New Zealand, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea and Uganda.

The top two from the four groups will go through to the Super 8 stage, where they will be split into two groups of four. Teams will play all three of the other sides in their group, with the top two then going through to the semi-finals.

For the first time there are 20 teams in the tournament, with the USA competing for the first time as a result of hosting and Canada and Uganda qualifying for their first appearances.
