Watford vs Crystal Palace: Carabao Cup prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results, odds
Crystal Palace and Watford know they have more pressing matters when they meet on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup second round.
Patrick Vieira earned the first point of his Eagles tenure thanks to a rather dire draw with Brentford, while the Hornets have won one and lost one so far in the Premier League.
A cup run would be an appealing prospect to either side, but both Vieira and Xisco Munoz will not lose any sleep over an early cup exit with Premier League survival their main priority.
Date, kick-off time and venue
Watford vs Crystal Palace is scheduled for a 7.45pm BST kick-off on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
The match will take place at Vicarage Road.
Where to watch Watford vs Crystal Palace
The match will not be broadcast live on UK TV.
Watford vs Crystal Palace team news
Danny Rose will be hoping to make his Watford debut after joining on a two-year deal. Elsewhere, deputy goalkeeper Ben Foster should be drafted in between the sticks.
Troy Deeney should also start, and could be partnered with Josh King. Palace target Will Hughes could be afforded a run out.
Patrick Vieira should shuffle his limited deck, meaning Martin Kelly, James Tomkins and Jack Butland.
Luka Milivojevic is still absent due to personal reasons.
Watford vs Crystal Palace prediction
Plenty of changes will be made, though that should afford a selection of fringe players to make an impression.
As such, quality could well be at a premium and I’m tipping Watford to make more of a go of it.
