Premier Division

Glenn SSC and WD Bushey drew 2-2 in the only Watford Sunday League top-flight game played on Sunday.

Having suffered their first league defeat of the season in last midweek’s 2-0 defeat to Cassiobury Rangers, WD managed to take a point against mid-table Glenn.

Will Bishop volleyed in a corner to give Glenn the lead before their opponents levelled through Hamze Ali.

WD went ahead in the second half thanks to a goal from Massimo Sinisi but Glenn equalised when Frankie Henley latched onto a loose ball to provide a cross for Michael East to score with a bullet header back across the keeper.

WD had a chance to take all three points when they were awarded a late penalty for which Charlie Patmore was sent off, but stand-in keeper James Henney saved the resulting spot kick.

Division Two

Sparta Phoenix clinched runners-up spot behind Everett Rovers with a 3-1 win over Francis George.

Ralph Thompson, George Pascoulis and Josh Bulley netted the goals which sealed promotion, with Dexter Franklin-Beck replying with the consolation for George.

St Josephs Reserves, who were the only other team who could have caught Sparta at the start of the day, suffered a 5-2 home defeat to Watford Youth Sports.

Mitchell Tearle and Luke Broad scored for Joes but their opponents took the points after Ollie Frost and Gabriel Wright both netted braces and Dylan Hershon was also on target.
