Michail Antonio’s double saw him break Paolo Di Canio’s record as West Ham’s leading Premier League goalscorer as David Moyes’ side hammered ten man Leicester at the London Stadium.

Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma were also on the scoresheet as the Hammers thumped the visitors - who had Ayoze Perez sent off shortly before half-time - 4-1 to go top of the Premier League.

Both Brendan Rodgers and Moyes named unchanged lineups, having seen their sides open their respective campaigns with victories over Wolves and Newcastle.

It was the Hammers who took the lead as Fornals fed Benrahma out wide and then burst into the box to sweep the Algerian’s cross into the bottom corner.

Fornals was then on the end of a horrible, off-balance challenge from Perez, who was sent on his way by Michael Oliver after a VAR review to leave Leicester with a mountain to climb.

Their job was made harder soon after the restart when Caglar Soyuncu’s backpass was picked off by Antonio, who teed up Benrahma for his second goal of the season.

Youri Tielemans have Leicester a lifeline out of nothing after some penalty box pinball, but Antonio’s 48th Premier League goal for the Hammers sealed the three points, before he added his 49th late on after a terrific looping touch over his marker.
