West Ham 4-1 Leicester LIVE! Antonio goal - Premier League match stream, latest score and goal updates today

West Ham vs Leicester – LIVE!

The Hammers hosts the Foxes in the first Monday Night Football of the new Premier League season.

Both teams are looking to make it two wins out of two and join Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Brighton with 100 per cent records.

West Ham twice came from behind to beat Newcastle last time out, while Leicester rode their luck at times in a 1-0 win over Wolves.

A win for the Hammers, in front of the first capacity crowd at the London Stadium in 18 months, would lay down a marker against a team who finished one point above them last season and will again be looking to qualify for the Champions League.

Leicester are struggling with injuries, especially in defence, with new signing Jannik Vestergaard the latest to be ruled out after a training ground setback.

FT: West Ham 4-1 Leicester

21:53 , Malik Ouzia

A magnificent performance - West Ham are top of the league.

21:49 , Malik Ouzia

89 mins: Antonio and Benrahma are withdrawn to huge ovations. Andriy Yarmolenko and Mark Noble are on.

GOAL! West Ham 4-1 Leicester | Michail Antonio 84’

21:44 , Malik Ouzia

Brilliant!

Coufal whips in a low ball and Antonio’s first touch takes it looping over a defender and he stretches to poke beyond Schmeichel.

GOAL! West Ham 3-1 Leicester | Michail Antonio 80'

21:40 , Malik Ouzia

Brilliant response!

Antonio is too good, too strong for Soyuncu and he swivels to fire into the far corner and become West Ham’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer. His 48th top-flight goal takes him one clear of Paulo Di Canio.

21:36 , Malik Ouzia

75 mins: West Ham sense that a third goal is probably the best way to kill this off and are pushing. Yet again, Dawson is up winning a header in the Foxes box as Rice delivers but again it’s wide.

GOAL! West Ham 2-1 Leicester | Youri Tielemans 70’

21:29 , Malik Ouzia

Game on!

Out of pretty much nothing, Leicester are back in it. Maddison works some space down the left and his cross is vollyed against Tielemans, who reacts fastest when the ball drops and pokes beyond Fabianski.

21:28 , Malik Ouzia

68 mins: These Jarrod Bowen corners are so dangerous, whipped in flat and hard, but Dawson doesn’t get his connection right and pings his header way off target.

Jack Rosser is at the London Stadium

21:25 , Malik Ouzia

These are the kind of evening the London Stadium has long needed to feel like home. Packed out, entertaining football and a great atmosphere. West Ham missed out on many last season but Moyes will hope to deliver plenty more.,

21:23 , Malik Ouzia

63 mins: West Ham are absolutely rampant. They break at pace again, Antonio finding Benrahma and eventually he works it back to the forward, whose low effort from range is tipped round the post by Schmeichel.

21:20 , Malik Ouzia

Benrahma’s season is off to a flyer! West Ham are really enjoying themselves here hunting the 10 men of Leicester in a ferocious atmosphere. Good patience from Antonio to stand up Schmeichel and pick his man out.

GOAL! West Ham 2-0 Leicester | Said Benrahma 56’

21:16 , Malik Ouzia

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Caglar Soyuncu, what have you done?

The Turkish defender plays a blind backpass and Antonio is onto it in a flash, picking out Benrahma in the middle and the Algerian sweeps home to continue his superb start to the season.

21:15 , Malik Ouzia

West Ham have made a flying start to this second half and the fans are enjoying every moment of it. Antonio close to his club record breaking goal there and perhaps should do better with the time he had at the far post. Fantastic ball from Fornals who has been the best player on the pitch.

21:12 , Malik Ouzia

51 mins: One way traffic at the start of the second half and it’s taken a superb Schmeichel save to keep out Antonio’s header from Fornals’ cross. He might’ve done better, the West Ham man.

KICK-OFF!

21:05 , Malik Ouzia

No changes for either side and we are back underway...

HT: West Ham 1-0 Leicester

20:50 , Malik Ouzia

An excellent half for the hosts and Leicester have it all to do.

20:47 , Malik Ouzia

45 mins: And that is a decent chance for two. The ball just drops over Ricardo’s head inside the six-yard box but Antonio hasn’t anticipated it and can’t react in time.

Jack Rosser is at the London Stadium

20:42 , Malik Ouzia

That was only going one way after Oliver went over to the screen. Leicester already looked rattled in this first half so Rodgers will want a big response from his side. Decent chance for West Ham to get at them in the final five minutes of this half.

RED CARD!

20:42 , Malik Ouzia

40 mins: Yep, Leicester are down to ten men!

If you’re being generous, Perez is off balance as he stumbles towards the man, but it did look as if he could have done more to pull out. It was dangerous, either way.

20:40 , Malik Ouzia

38 mins: Ouch. This one looked pretty innocuous in real-time but Ayoze Perez has gone over the top of the ball and come down hard just above the ankle of Fornals.

Michael Oliver is heading over to the touchline monitor...

20:36 , Malik Ouzia

35 mins: Leicester need half-time here. A corner is swung in by Cresswell and Ogbonna and Dawson are both up higher than anyone in blue but the former heads wide.

20:30 , Malik Ouzia

29 mins: Almost a second!

They’ve got their tails up now, West Ham. Coufal bombs down the right and picks out his Czech teammate Soucek in the middle but the big midfielder can’t steer his header on target.

Jack Rosser is at the London Stadium

20:29 , Malik Ouzia

What a superb goal from West Ham. Rice as alert as ever in midfield to pounce on Vardy’s poor touch and then the move was all on instinct. A fine first time cross and finish from both Benrahma and Fornals.

GOAL! West Ham 1-0 Leicester | Pablo Fornals 26'

20:26 , Malik Ouzia

Lovely goal!

Fornals carries the ball forward and spreads it wide to Benrahma, who might just hammer it across goal but instead he spots that Fornals has carried on his run and picks him out perfectly.

The Spaniard does the rest, sweeping a superb finish into the far corner.

20:25 , Malik Ouzia

23 mins: There are cries of SHOOOOT every time Declan Rice gets the ball anywhere in the Leicester half and he’s already taken up the offer once, blazing into the stand. Good intensity about this one but still no real clear-cut chances.

20:17 , Malik Ouzia

16 mins: They’re on the edge of their seats every time Antonio gets on the ball. Again, he drives straight at the heart of the Leicester defence and as Soyuncu backs off he pulls the trigger but his strike drifts well wide.

Jack Rosser is at the London Stadium

20:14 , Malik Ouzia

Leicester just edging it here early on, West Ham are looking to play on the break as they did successfully against the Foxes in both games last season but struggling to knit things together on the counter so far.

20:11 , Malik Ouzia

10 mins: A bit of concern for West Ham as Aaron Cresswell goes down needing treatment but the left-back is soon back on and into the action.

Said Benrahma had his first sighter a few moments ago, curling straight at Kasper Schmeichel from long range.

20:06 , Malik Ouzia

5 mins: A pretty lively start in east London, Harvey Barnes doing on a dart down the left before his cross was cut out by the chest of Dawson, while going the other way Antonio has already had the Leicester back line running scared, only to pick the wrong pass.

Jack Rosser is at the London Stadium

20:01 , Malik Ouzia

How they’ve missed that. A deafening rendition of bubbles after the players make their way out. Moyes has said he wants the fans to come back here to see a different West Ham side from the one they left back in March 2020 - a win against Leicester would go a long way to fulfilling that hope.

KICK-OFF!

20:01 , Malik Ouzia

We are up and running...

19:58 , Malik Ouzia

The teams are on their way out, there are pretty bubbles in the air, and it’s almost showtime.

Our man Jack Rosser is in position

19:39 , Malik Ouzia

It was a cruel twist of luck for Leicester that Vestergaard should suffer that injury in training so soon after joining to provide cover following the injuries to Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans.

They are at least boosted by the fact that Timothy Castagne is back on the bench tonight, having been out since fracturing his eye socket at Euro 2020 with Belgium.

19:30 , Malik Ouzia

David Moyes has just been talking about the return of fans to the London Stadium, and the transformation of his side since there was lasta full-house in.

“I hope we can give them the same kind of performances as when there was no one here!” he told Sky Sports.

19:18 , Malik Ouzia

So, no real surprise to see that both managers have stuck with the same sides that got their respective campaigns off to winning starts last weekend.

Michail Antonio again leads the line for the Hammers with support from the exciting trio of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen, while Jamie Vardy has the likes of Harvey Barnes and James Maddison for company. Lovely stuff.

Standard Sport prediction

18:50 , Malik Ouzia

Both sides will fancy their chances of three points here, so we could be in with a chance of a high-scoring draw. Neither defence is watertight, so the forwards could fill their boots.

West Ham 2-2 Leicester.

Leicester team news

18:36 , Malik Ouzia

Jannick Vestergaard will miss tonight’s game after suffering an injury in training, joining Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans and Ryan Bertrand on the sidelines.

Fofana suffered a fractured fibula during a recent friendly against Villarreal, while Evans is still recovering from a foot problem as he targets a return after next month’s international break. Bertrand is ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19.

Leicester provisional squad: Schmeichel, Ward, Soyuncu, Amartey, Pereira, Castagne, Thomas, Tielemans, Soumare, Maddison, Albrighton, Under, Choudhury, Mendy, Ndidi, Praet, Vardy, Iheanacho, Perez, Daka.

West Ham team news

18:20 , Malik Ouzia

Arthur Masuaku is West Ham’s only injury absentee for the visit of Leicester. The wing-back is still building up his fitness following the knee operation he underwent last season.

Michail Antonio starts in attack, looking for his 48th Premier League goal, which would take him one ahead of Paolo Di Canio and make him West Ham’s record goalscorer in the competition.

West Ham provisional squad: Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Soucek, Fornals, Bowen, Benrahma, Antonio, Areola, Fredericks, Baptiste, Diop, Johnson, Lanzini, Coventry, Yarmolenko.
