West Ham XI vs Liverpool: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Carabao Cup game today

West Ham manager David Moyes has sprung some selection surprises for tonight's Carabao Cup quarter-final clash away at Liverpool.

Moyes has made Alphonse Areola his No1 in the Premier League this season, with Lukasz Fabianski instead starting the majority of cup matches.

However, Areola’s wrist injury earlier this month opened the door for Fabianski, who has started the last four matches in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in each of the last two.

Moyes uses the trip to Liverpool to ease Areola - who was on the bench for Sunday’s win over Wolves - back into action.

Elsewhere, the Hammers have brought Angelo Ogbonna and Ben Johnson into the defence in a surprise double change, with Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma also starting ahead of James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta further forward.

The likes of Kurt Zouma and Emerson are also only on the bench.

West Ham XI: Areola; Coufal, Ogbonna, Mavropanos, Johnson; Alvarez, Soucek, Fornals; Kudus, Bowen, Benrahma
