UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm had many possible scenarios before her after she dethroned Ronda Rousey at UFC 193. Most people thought the UFC was going to push for an immediate rematch with Rousey, but things instead shifted to Holm making her first title defense against Miesha Tate.

Holm and Tate will square off in the co-main event of UFC 196, where lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will defend his belt against featherweight champ Conor McGregor, who will try to become the first UFC fighter to hold two belts concurrently.

But how did the fight with Tate come into play and why was that the fight that Holm eventually decided to go with? She answered those questions at a UFC 196 media luncheon in Los Angeles.
