Why isn’t Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest Premier League game live on TV in UK?

Liverpool host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this afternoon, but think twice before reaching for the remote.

The Reds have enjoyed a very impressive start to the season and will be looking to leapfrog modern rivals Manchester City into third with a victory this afternoon. Mohamed Salah will be relishing facing a Forest defence who are struggling to keep clean sheets and conceded twice to division whipping boys Luton last time out.

However, only those inside the stadium will be able to see the game unfold live at 2pm.

It will not be shown live on TV as Sky Sports have not picked it for broadcast.

Liverpool vs Nottingham was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 27 and not selected to be shown on TV. Rules state that a match originally not picked for broadcast cannot then be put on TV if the timeslot is moved.

The match was then pushed back to Sunday due to Liverpool's participation in the Europa League group stage.

Instead, West Ham vs Everton has got the nod for TV coverage and kicks off at 1pm. The 3.30pm Sunday slot is taken by the Manchester derby between United and City.

Highlights will be shown at 10.30pm BST on Sunday on BBC One.
