Women's College World Series predictions, odds for Oklahoma State vs. Florida

Game 4 of the 2024 Women's College World Series (WCWS) is set.

The No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowgirls will play the No. 4 Florida Gators in each team's first game in the double-elimination bracket. The winner will play the winner of No. 1 Texas vs. No. 8 Stanford. The loser will play the loser of that game.

All eight teams remaining in the WCWS are still alive after the first day, but elimination games begin Friday as the losers of Thursday's games play each other.

Oklahoma State is one of just two teams that won a series against No. 2 Oklahoma this season, which kept the Sooners out of the top spot in the Big 12 regular season. The Cowgirls' ace pitcher, Lexi Kilfoyl, was one of the best in the nation with 146 strikeouts to 30 walks and a 1.06 ERA in 171 innings pitched.

Florida have two of the country's best hitters – junior outfielder Korbe Otis and senior shortstop Skylar Wallace – both of whom finished with batting averages above .420. Otis also led the nation with her .584 on-base percentage.

Here's what to know about the last WCWS game on Thursday.

Oklahoma State vs. Florida predictions

The Gainesville Sun: Florida 3, Oklahoma State 2

Noah Ram writes: "For all this talk about offensive explosion, this game truly will be decided in the circle. Kilfoyl is imposing, and she'll be the best pitcher Florida has seen all season. But Rothrock is just as strong. When the two met in February, she went pound-for-pound with Kilfoyl with the exception of one bad pitch."

The Oklahoman: Oklahoma State 3, Florida 2

Justin Martinez writes: "In coin-flip games, the safe bet is to roll with the team that has the better pitcher. That's OSU and Lexi Kilfoyl, who won the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year award this season with a 1.06 ERA and 146 strikeouts in 171 innings pitched."

Heartland College Sports: Oklahoma State will have a statement win

Bryan Clinton writes: "Lexi Kilfoyl will be the best arm that Florida has seen all season, let alone in the postseason, and I expect her to cause them some issues. I could easily see this game end with a score of 4-0 or 5-1 in Oklahoma State’s favor is Kilfoyl has her best stuff, and that’s what I’m predicting we get to see on Thursday night."
