WARRINGTON Wolves’ Wembley hangover continued as they slipped to a third defeat in a row in all competitions.

A nightmare first half saw the damage done, with visitors Salford Red Devils moving into a 19-0 lead at a shellshocked Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Nene Macdonald, Deon Cross and Marc Sneyd all scored tries as Sam Burgess’ men succumbed to Salford for the second time this season.

There were briefly hopes of a fightback as Rodrick Tai and Matty Ashton touched down in quick succession before the hour mark to narrow the gap to 11 points.

However, those hopes were quickly snuffed out by Cross’ second try as Wire’s worrying wobble continued despite Tai's second try on the final hooter.
