Peddy, with just more than two minutes left in the third quarter of their 79-63 loss in Las Vegas, was away from the play on the wing when she went to make a move up toward the ball.
As she planted her right leg, Peddy suddenly started hopping and fell to the ground — where she instantly grabbed at her ankle.

Peddy was carried off the court and to the locker room by a teammate, and was quickly ruled out of the game.
Many, including Aces star Kelsey Plum, speculated quickly that it was Peddy’s Achilles.
“I hope Shey Peddy’s OK,” Plum said on ESPN between quarters. “I saw it. It looked like my Achilles [injury], so my prayers go out to her.”
Peddy finished with eight points and five assists while shooting 3-of-13 from the field in 26 minutes. Specifics regarding her injury are not yet known.
The injury is the latest significant one for the Mercury, who were also without stars Skylar Diggins-Smith and Diana Taurasi on Wednesday night. Diggins-Smith missed the game due to personal reasons, marking her third straight, and Diana Taurasi is out with a quad injury.
The Aces took a 1-0 series lead behind a 22-point outing from Plum and a big fourth quarter run after just 18 combined points in the third quarter. Diamond DeShields led Phoenix with 18 points and eight rebounds. Game 2 of the three-game series is set for Saturday night in Las Vegas.
