When is the Women's College World Series? Time, date, schedule for softball tournament

The 2024 college softball season has concluded, paving the way for the highly anticipated Women's College World Series, scheduled to take place at the end of May. With a plenty of exciting matches leading up to this point, the stage is set for a thrilling and memorable showdown.

Patty Gasso's Oklahoma Sooners, who had been on a remarkable 71-game winning streak, saw their streak snapped in March. Despite a valiant effort from the Sooners to regain their stride, they suffered a significant setback with a loss to Oklahoma State in the last weekend of the regular season. However, it was a historic win for Oklahoma State, who surged in the rankings to claim the second spot and their first Bedlam series victory in Norman since 1993.

This loss led to Oklahoma dropping to the fourth spot in the Week 13 USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 polls. With a stellar 45-6 record, Texas continues to dominate the rankings, holding onto the coveted No. 1 spot.

As the Women's College World Series looms, all eyes are on the crucial upcoming conference tournaments that will play a pivotal role in shaping the tournament.
