There was another round of exciting action FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship this weekend.

Records were broken and there was a crucial top-of-the-table clash, with 28 goals scored in 10 fixtures as most of the clubs from the two leagues took to the field.

Here, we look at three star performers, who all netted braces as they guided their sides to victory.

Nikita Parris (Manchester City)

There’s only one place to start and it’s with Manchester City forward Nikita Parris.

Her two goals as the Citizens’ secured a 3-0 win away at Liverpool saw her overtake Eni Aluko as the top scorer in FA WSL history.

Parris, 24, overtook her fellow forward Eni Aluko, who moved from Chelsea to Juventus this summer, after a blistering start to the season.

She has netted nine goals in eight appearances so far this season, putting her top of the goal-scoring charts in the FA WSL.

Parris tied Aluko after 59 minutes when she dinked the ball over Liverpool keeper Anke Preuss and doubled her tally from the spot late on after Niamh Fahey had upended second-half substitute Georgia Stanway.

It leaves Parris out on her own with 37 goals in the FA WSL and there’s no doubt she’ll be looking to add to her record in the coming weeks.

Jess Sigsworth (Manchester United)

Manchester United’s Jess Sigsworth also nabbed a brace as her side in the top of the table clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Her goals helped the Red Devils dispatch the league leaders 4-1 in the Championship and take away their 100 per cent record, Spurs having previously won six in six.

Sigsworth is now up to eight goals in eight games, but only five starts, and teams are struggling to contain the lethal striker.

She combined with Lauren James on United’s two opening goals, setting up her teammate for the first before James returned the favour for the striker on the second.

Sigsworth’s second shortly before half-time came as she nodded in a Katie Zelem free-kick.

The forward, 24, was an obvious signing for United as they launched their team this summer having registered 15 goals for Doncaster Rovers as they took the Championship title last term.

Ramona Bachmann (Chelsea)

Swiss attacking midfielder Ramona Bachmann scored a sublime second goal as her Chelsea side breezed past West Ham at the Rush Green Stadium.

She gathered a raking cross-field pass before dribbling into the corner of the box, opening her body and curling a short into the top corner past Rebecca Spencer in the West Ham goal.

Bachmann’s two goals helped the Blues to their first away win in the FA WSL this season.

The strike is already doing the rounds on social media, gaining recognition both for the assist, as well as Bachmann’s sublime finish.
