Workington Reds' free-scoring skipper Dav Symington is in the running for an end-of-season award.

The Reds top scorer is on a ten-man shortlist to be named Northern Premier League supporters' player of the year.

It follows an impressive 24-goal season from the ex-Carlisle United man in the NPL Premier under Danny Grainger.

Symington also assumed the Borough Park captaincy after previous skipper Conor Tinnion stepped up to be joint assistant manager.

The 30-year-old's shortlisting for the Pitching In Supporters Player Award follows a nomination process which saw 120 names submitted, with fans from all 82 member clubs of the Northern Premier League involved in the process along with club media officials, NPL podcast pundits and radio commentators.

The other award contenders are Hebburn Town's Amar Purewal, Bootle's Ben Hodkinson, Marine's Finlay Sinclair-Smith, Anstey Nomads' Freddie Robinson, Radcliffe's Jordan Hulme, Belper Town's Kevin Bastos, Quorn's Paddy Webb, Leek Town's Rob Stevenson and Harborough Town's Tendai Daire.
