WWE Confirms Brock Lesnar Still Under Contract, Despite UFC 200 “One-Off Opportunity”

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday night revealed that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would return to the Octagon to fight at UFC 200 in the night's co-main event. The announcement came during the UFC 199: Rockhold vs. Bisping 2 pay-per-view broadcast, but did not include an opponent or any other details.

Lesnar is currently under contract with professional wresting promotion WWE, which did give a little bit more information on Lesnar's return to mixed martial arts, calling it a “one-off opportunity.”

According to WWE.com:

“Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.”

Lesnar's return to the Octagon was a shock to fans and pundits alike, but apparently, after pulling Conor McGregor off of the UFC 200 fight card, the company wanted to do something that would rock the MMA world for what is expected to be its biggest event ever.

Like it or not, UFC president Dana White and company certainly did that.
