LUCKY 15 SELECTIONS

WHATSTHATALLABOUT (Bangor 3.45) has to give a stone away to main rival Lyme Park and three other runners in the 2m3½f mares’ novices’ hurdle, but Neil Mulholland’s representative looks up to the task of recording a hat-trick under the double penalty. She was well clear of a previous winner in a novice event at Uttoxeter last time, having followed up her handicap win at the same track in July. This looks a tougher race, yet she has had a nine-week break and should be good enough to triumph once again.

CONSIDERED OPINION (Kempton Park 6.10) was easy to back and did not get the best of starts on her debut at Newbury (6f, good to firm) but stayed on in decent style to get within a neck of a subsequent Class 2 fillies’ conditions stakes winner Partitia and was in front of Promising who was only just beaten in a Group 3 at Goodwood thereafter. That form looks strong. Trained by Ralph Beckett, the juvenile daughter of Invincible Spirit should be good enough to overcome an awkward draw in stall 3 in this 6f fillies’ maiden.

EQTIRAAN (Salisbury 2.50) beat the promising Rivet on his debut at Ascot in July but did not look an easy ride when failing to settle early on in the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown last month. Richard Hannon’s string has not been firing on all cylinders of late, but if the colt is to justify his Dewhurst Stakes entry, then he surely must run a big race in this 6f conditions race.

AL NASSER ALWASHIK (Nottingham 4.05) was up in trip to 1m1f in a bid to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking in July and was not beaten far subsequent winners Cote D’Azur and Shufoog in an apprentices’ handicap at York. Still open to improvement, the Roger Fell-trained three-year-old is back to a mile and goes off a mark of 73 in a competitive heat. However, Silvestre De Sousa is an eye-catching booking and he is worthy of a speculative selection.
