Yahoo Sport UK’s horse racing Lucky 15 – Tuesday’s top selections

Yahoo Sport UK has teamed up with Bet4Causes to bring you a preview of the day’s British racing – and The Night Hawk marks your card.

Each day we will provide you with a preview of the day’s racing, offering what the experts feel will be the value bets of the day.

After a third successive winning NAP selection on Monday, take a look at our Lucky 15 selections (four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a four-fold) for the British meetings on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.

LUCKY 15 SELECTIONS

HYDROXIDE (Lingfield 2.00) holds what looks to be an obvious chance in the first of an eight-race card at the Surrey track. The Lope De Vega juvenile has had two starts, chasing home the useful D’bai on his debut over 7f at Newmarket in July and then headed by Glencadam Glory at Doncaster over 1m 12 days ago. He was slowly away on both starts and did really well to get so close last time, showing a decent turn of foot before his run flattened out. He should have learned a bit more for the experience and Hugo Palmer’s representative should get off the mark in the 1m maiden if handling the all-weather surface.

BILLY BOND (Beverley 4.45) was just nudged out of a 1m1f handicap by Eez Eh at Carlisle a couple of weeks ago in a 0-70, but was raised 3lb for that and is back up to a 0-75 today. The Richard Fahey-trained four-year-old, whose one win from 21 races came at Southwell in January after a string of near misses, has been largely consistent in Class 5 handicaps since and likes to come off the pace. There appears to be enough pace in the 1m½f contest this afternoon, so he could get a good tow into the race and hopefully double his career tally.

HARBOUR LIGHTNING (Beverley 2.40) has thrice been the bridesmaid but can go one better in the 5f maiden. She has been thoroughly reliable if a little unlucky in her seven starts so far and was nosed out of a 5f Wolverhampton nursery on her all-weather debut last time off a mark of 64. Prior to that, she was twice second over today’s course and distance, having found trouble in running on both occasions. She has the scope to win an ordinary handicap, but is worth chancing against today’s company, with few others inspiring much confidence.

BLUE ET NOIR (Warwick 2.20), who missed an engagement at Plumpton on Sunday to run here, won for the third time over hurdles at Newton Abbot four weeks ago. He aims to overcome a triple penalty, having been very effective in similar novice company. Trainer Tim Vaughan has employed the services of 10lb claimer George Blackwell, which helps the cause and, in truth, the 2m event looks to contain plenty of dead wood. He should make another bold bid in spite of his hefty weight.
