Kesh youngster Max Jones (10) has been selected to represent Team Ireland in the upcoming World Junior Motocross Championships in The Netherlands.

A team of 10 of Ireland's top youth riders will take on the world’s best in the deep Dutch sand.

Max will be one three Irish riders competing in the 65cc category amongst 95 entries.

The event takes place at the Heerde Mx facility in Holland on July 13 and14.

The team will travel out several days beforehand to get some practice in the conditions to help set bikes up and get used to the local sand.

Max has had a great season so far competing both at home in Ireland and over the water in the UK at the British Championship, with some fantastic results.

To get to experience an event this big is something Max is very excited to be part of and appreciates the help from sponsors that helps him compete on a weekly basis to get to where he is in the sport.

Max's father, Peter thanked all those who have supported Max in his journey: "We would like to thank Eamon Kelly of Beechvale Water, and Paul McMulkin of Donnelly Group Enniskillen. Eamon has supported Max right from the start of his racing career and has sponsored Max and the full team with products to keep us hydrated for the trip."

Donnelly Group surprised Max by presenting him with a New Arai Helmet.

Peter also thanked other other local sponsors: Trunk Floor Kesh, Enniskillen Tyre Centre, Thyolo Equestrian, McGirr Fuels and MB14.
