Zlatan Ibrahimovic went on Jimmy Kimmel and it was peak Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Oh Zlatan
Oh Zlatan

It’s probably fair to say there has never been a match made more in heaven than Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old striker has take his uber-ego over to California to play in this season’s MLS campaign for LA Galaxy and has already made himself right at home.

He announced himself in the LA Times with a full-page ad that said “You’re Welcome Los Angeles”, scored twice on his debut in the LA Derby against newly formed LAFC, and now has appeared on popular late-night chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

And it’s fair to say while many footballers wilt under the studio lights, Zlatan basked n them like a seasoned Hollywood A-Lister.

Whereas most celebrities go on talkshows to promote something, Zlatan simply goes on to promote Zlatan and does it in the most Zlatan way possible, introducing himself with the line: “LA has always been on my mind and I thought about giving them a gift, and then I realised…I can give myself.”

He goes on to talk about being Swedish (“I’m not a typical Swedish guy bit I put Sweden on the map”), the level on interest in him from MLS sides (“It is my own fault, because if you play the way I do…”) and whether he could have played other sports (“I chose football so i’m sorry for fans of other sports as I would have been the same [great there also]”

Finally he left a hint about this summer’s World Cup, in which he is not expected to be selected by Sweden (“A World Cup without me would not be a World Cup”)

In a way, Zlatan’s twilight years are more Zlatan than ever. Watch Zlatan on Jimmy Kimmel below.
