Celebrity Couples Who Stayed Together After Nearly (or Actually) Getting a Divorce

Hollywood is notoriously fickle when it comes to marriage, but every now and then a couple gives us hope that love is not dead. La La and Carmelo Anthony are only the latest example of married celebs who reconsidered their divorce plans (or even remarried!) and decided they were better together.

La La and Carmelo Anthony

Two months after reports that the TV personality and the NBA star had separated after more than six years of marriage, La La said she and her husband did not plan to divorce. “Not right now,” she said on The Wendy Williams Show. “You know, marriages are tough, and you know that. We all know that. It’s filled with ups and downs. We are just going through a time right now.” La La said the two are committed to setting a good example for their 10-year-old son, Kiyan. She also said she’s dating herself, but does that she is open to rekindling her romance with Melo? We certainly know that he is! (Photo: Desiree Navarro/WireImage)

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne

Sharon shocked fans in May 2016, when she appeared to confirm headlines that she and Ozzy had split after 33 years of marriage because of his affair with a hairdresser. On her show The Talk, Sharon explained that she had left the home she shared with the rocker. “It’s right for me because I honestly at this point today have no idea what I’m going to be doing with the rest of my life,” she shared. “I don’t know where I’m going, who I’m going with. And I just need time to think.” Two months later, however, Ozzy confirmed that the two were “back on track again.” (Photo: Tibrina Hobson/WireImage)

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas

The actors married in 2000, but by 2013, they were ready for a break — or at least they were taking one, a source told People. Fast forward a few months, and the couple reunited and it felt… so good. “Sometimes we spend more efforts with people that are strangers in terms of making an impression than the person that’s closest to us,” Douglas later told CBS This Morning of the break. “And you just gotta remember not to take for granted that person that’s closest to you.” (Photo: Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic)

Jamie and Lynne Spears

Britney’s parents, who married in 1975, called it quits in 2002. They even officially divorced. However, they found their way back to each other, perhaps united by their children. In 2016, people spotted them together watching a DJ spin Britney’s tracks. Sounds like an excellent idea for a love song… (Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage)

Patrick and Jillian Dempsey

It looked like the end for the former Grey’s Anatomy star and his makeup artist wife in January 2015, when she filed for divorce. By May 2016, they were back on, but only after Dempsey made some tough realizations. “You can only do one thing at a time and do it well,” he told People in September 2016. “I [learned] to prioritize. Our union has to be the priority. I wasn’t prepared to give up on her and she wasn’t either. We both wanted to fight for it.” (Photo: Joel Ryan/Invision/AP)

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green

“I don’t know what the secret is. Just stick it out,” Green told People in May 2017, when asked for the key to his union with Fox. “Like fighting and making up, believing in each other.” Green should know, as he and Fox, who married in 2010, separated in 2015, only to get back together while expecting their third child in 2016. NeNe and Gregg Leakes

Of course, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has had drama with her significant other. NeNe and Gregg split in 2010, after 13 years of marriage, but couldn’t stay apart long. Their divorce was finalized in 2011. However, they were definitely back together by New Year’s 2013. The reality star told Jimmy Fallon on his Tonight Show the countdown was far from the highlight of the evening. “Well, a little after midnight, I was asked this beautiful question: Will you marry me — again?” she said. They remarried on TV (naturally) in 2013. (Photo: Paras Griffin/Getty Images)

Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus

Miley Cyrus’s parents, who married in 1993, have not had the easiest of relationships. He filed for divorce in 2010, but announced a few months later that he wanted to stay married and had called off the split. Then, in 2013, Tish filed for divorce. Within a few weeks, they released a joint statement, saying they were back on — again! “We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together. We both went into couples therapy something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways.” (Photo: Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP)

Pink and Carey Hart

Remember when Pink sang, “I guess I just lost my husband, I don’t know where he went,” in her song So What? Well, the truth is he didn’t go far. The singer and her retired BMX biker love married in 2006, split in 2008, and then decided to give their romance another try. “We’re rebuilding,” Hart told People in April 2009. “Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backwards to move forward.” And now they have to sweet kiddos. Jean-Claude Van Damme and Gladys Portugues

The action star and his wife have been married and divorced twice, but they’re still making it work –- as of this moment, at least. He first married the bodybuilder in 1987, but they divorced in 1992, after having two kids. In 1999, it was déjà vu all over again when the couple married, then split in early 2015. But by the summer, Van Damme said his relationship with Gladys was back on. “The JCVD family is still strong,” the four-times divorced star told TMZ. “The kids are strong, the wife is strong. There’s so much divorce around the world and it’s very bad for the children.” (Photo: Anthony Harvey/Getty Images)
