Picture this: Boy who wore Messi plastic bag 'shirt' plays with Afghan national team

Murtaza Ahmadi, a young Afghan boy who charmed the Internet with his makeshift Lionel Messi jersey made out of a plastic bag, played with the Afghan U16 national team. An image of Murtaza went viral earlier this month, sparking a global search for the five-year-old soccer fan from Afghanistan’s Ghanzi Province. The Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) is trying to organize a meeting for Murtaza with the international football star, which it says will be confirmed in the coming days. “The country’s football federation considers it as its obligation to work to fulfill and realize little Murtaza’s wishes,” the AFF said. These photos, shared by AFF, show Murtaza decked out in official Messi gear, playing soccer with the Afghan U16 teams.
