World Cup 2018: Day 13 in pictures as Argentina steal it late and France, Denmark go through

Day 13 of the World Cup is here and once again there are four crucial group games taking place.

Group C came to a climax this afternoon, as France took on Denmark with both teams knowing a point would guarantee them each a spot in the knockout rounds.

In the end, Denmark didn’t need the 0-0 draw in Moscow because Australia, who needed to win and hoped the Danes lost, themselves slipped up to fan favourites Peru 2-0.

There was high drama in the two late kick offs as Argentina left it late to secure their spot in the knockout stages.

With five minutes of normal time remaining against Nigeria, and Iceland pushing for a winner in the other match, La Albiceleste were heading out of World Cup. That was until Marcos Rojo stepped up and scored a wonderful winner to send them through to the knockout stages, at Nigeria’s expense.

Lionel Messi and co went through as Group D runners-up to Croatia, who found another late winner to see off Iceland 2-1 and finish the group with a perfect record of three wins from three games.
