World Cup 2018: Day 15 in pictures, England lose, Senegal knocked out on yellow cards and more

It’s the final day of group matches at the World Cup, which started with three teams trying to squeeze into two spots in Group H. Japan, Colombia and Senegal started the day only separated by a single point.

In the end, Japan’s 1-0 defeat to bottom-placed Poland didn’t kill their chances because Colombia beat Senegal by the same scoreline.

That meant Japan surrendered top spot in Group H to Colombia, but it kept the Samurai Blue ahead of Senegal on fair play.

AS IT UNFOLDED: England v Belgium in Kalingrad

England took on Belgium in their final Group G encounter knowing a win or a draw would have seen them top the group.

But a 1-0 defeat to the Red Devils condemned England to second place and a tricky Last 16 match against Colombia

It’s not all bad for England though, if the Three Lions can get past their match against Colombia they will avoid a quarter final against Brazil or Mexico.
