Piers Morgan has delivered his verdict on the Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk bout after a legacy-defining night of boxing played out until the early hours of the morning.

However, at the final bell as Usyk was crowned boxing's first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion, Piers delivered his verdict - and came down firmly in favour of the Ukrainian fighter.

Announcing the 37-year-old boxer as the winner, the Piers Morgan Uncensored host posted: "Deservedly so. He was an absolute warrior as the fight went on. Great fight."

Fury was unhappy at the verdict, saying after the fight: "I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority. It was one of the daftest decisions in boxing. I'll be back."

Usyk said: "Thank you so much to my team. It's a big opportunity for my family, for me, for my country. It's a great time, it's a great day. Yes, of course. I am ready for a rematch."

In a tense wait for the verdict, Fury seemed sure of victory before Usyk broke down in tears when confirmed as the winner in scorecards that read 115-112 and 114-113 for him, with a third judge scoring it 114-113 to his rival.

Fury has praised his opponent before the bout, saying: "Oleksandr Usyk is a great fighter. Olympic gold medalist, cruiserweight world champion, heavyweight world champion.

"But, unfortunately for him, he has to come against the great Tyson Fury in the era of me."

Many of Piers' followers agreed with his verdict that Usyk deserved the win - with one saying simply: "The best fighter won." Another wrote: "Fury was unfocused in the early rounds He was busy with gimmicks when he should be earning points."

The win means Usyk remains unbeaten and is the first boxer in almost 25 years be boxing's sole heavyweight world champion. Fury lost for the first time in his 16-year professional career.
