Famed for its bold prints, sustainable ethos, and reasonable price tags, Nobody’s Child is one of my go-to brands for affordable womenswear. Since it was founded in 2015, it has become a popular and reliable choice for many and due to demand became the first guest brand to ever be stocked at Marks & Spencer. Boasting a loyal following, the brand even has a slew of celebrity fans including Sienna Miller, Rochelle Humes and Fearne Cotton, who has collaborated with the brand on a number of collections.

Quick overview

I am one of its biggest fans, with my wardrobe full of Nobody’s Child dresses. I appreciate the label for many reasons, but the price point and excellent fit appeal to me the most. Unlike other high street brands such as French Connection and Reiss, which I occasionally wear, Nobody’s Child offers much more reasonable pricing, with options ranging between £35 and £150. It provides that 'safe' factor I appreciate when I know a brand consistently delivers, and Nobody's Child certainly always lives up to my expectations.

For starters, I highly appreciate the accurate sizing, which can be a massive challenge when shopping on the high street. While with other brands, I often fluctuate between sizes 8 and 12, with Nobody’s Child, I'm confident that a size 10 fits well, and the waist and length measurements are a perfect match.

So that you can find the best personalised fit for you, Nobody's Child also offers three different sections: a petite range perfectly crafted for those under 5ft 3, a maternity section, and an extended sizes option that goes up to size 24. Although I am 5ft 3 and normally shop petite if it's available, I often find the regular length suits me as well.

For me, the other major bonus is that Nobody's Child's dresses have been designed with flattering silhouettes in mind. I particularly like their shirred effect dresses that flatter the waist and the way many are designed with flowy sleeves that help disguise my bingo wings.

The sustainability ethos of the brand also helps you feel like you're shopping more responsibly, as it utilises organic and recycled materials in its clothing. Furthermore, with the brand's aim to "introduce circular design principles into 75% of our range by 2025," I appreciate its commitment to staying up to date with the latest industry innovations. In fact, it's rare to find a sustainable brand that offers fashionable clothes with reasonable price tags (most of the dresses below are under £80).

With the warm weather and busy summer season upon us, I have picked out five of my favourite dresses for all possible occasions. Whether you want to dress to impress for work, your summer holiday, a day at the races or a summer wedding, the options below have you covered.

I love shirred dresses because I find them extremely comfortable to wear, and as someone with a bit of a flabby tummy, they seem to pull me in at all the right places. Shirring works by stretching and gently gathering the fabric for a figure-flattering effect, and on this dress, it works beautifully. It turns a somewhat plain dress into a statement piece, and I love the addition of a square ruffled neckline and cap sleeves on this khaki number.

Made out of organic cotton, the fabric felt very comfortable to wear, and the scooped back helped me stay cool. Thoughtfully designed, you can also wear a bra without the straps showing. The shirred waist flows into a A-line skirt, which is a great design feature as it emphasises the waist area before falling into a breezy skirt. This is the perfect dress to wear for a variety of summer occasions, I particularly loved wearing it with a pair of metallic sandals.

With a square ruffled neckline, floaty A-line skirt and flattering shirred detail, this khaki dress ticks all the boxes.

This feminine number comes in pink or a floral print. (Yahoo Life UK)

Shop the floral dress Shop in pink

This dress also comes in plain pastel pink, but I have always loved Nobody’s Child floral prints, and this one is no exception. It's a perfect summer work outfit because of the pretty print, and the crepe woven fabric makes it lightweight and breezy. The yellow and orange flowers, along with the green leaves, form a gorgeous print that come together in an eye-catching patchwork pattern.

As for the style of the dress, the sweetheart neckline is one that suits all shapes. I’m a size 34C and found just enough of the bust area was showing. The short puffed sleeves are elasticated but don't feel tight on the upper arm area, and I love the way the fabric falls, skimming over the bottom half of the body.

The low back of the dress is a nice addition, and the fact that the zip is cleverly concealed means the dress flows elegantly. I wore this dress with chunky heeled sandals and received a lot of compliments, so it's definitely a dress I'll be wearing on repeat this summer.

Made from textured crêpe woven from a responsible viscose blend, this dress features sun-kissed hues of orange and yellow. It also comes in pink.

The square neckline and thick ruffle straps of this smock dress were actually very flattering. (Yahoo Life UK)

I fell in love with this dress, made out of a lightweight organic cotton, the minute I spotted it online. There is something about this light white dress featuring yellow and green flowers that is just so pretty. Although I am not confident about showing my upper arms in public, the square neckline and thick ruffle straps of this smock dress were actually very flattering. Plus, the shirred bodice meant my bra didn’t show underneath, which is quite rare for a white dress.

This is the perfect summer dress to wear on holiday, and the colour looks great on tanned skin. I wore it with sandals, but I think a pair of white plimsolls would also look great. And when it got a bit chilly at night, I threw on a dark blue denim jacket that brought the outfit together. I took this away with me on an overnight trip last week, and the good news is the cotton barely creased in my luggage, so you can just throw this on as an easy-to-wear piece. The dress comes in similar styles online in green and black, too.

Made entirely from light cotton voile, this feminine number features subtle yellow and green flower embroidery, a flattering shirred smock-style cut and tiered skirt and is topped off by thick ruffle straps.

And the best part? It has pockets! (Yahoo Life UK)

Fearne Cotton’s latest collaboration with Nobody’s Child has so many great summer styles, but this organic cotton poplin dress is by far my favourite.

As for the length, I'm 5ft 3, and it fell just past my ankles, so I would recommend wearing it with heels if you're petite. I wore it with silver wedges as I love the colour combination. The halterneck ties easily into a pretty bow at the top of the neckline, and let me reassure you, the material is strong enough to stay put all night. A strapless bra is needed, and although a lot of the back area is on show, the top of my bra was still hidden.

I absolutely love halterneck dresses as I find them to be very flattering, and if you have long hair like me, I find a messy bun or up-do the best way to show off the neckline. Again, this dress has shirring detail at the top, and then the skirt flows out to create a flattering silhouette.

And the best part? It has pockets! I just love a dress with pockets as it totally elevates the style. The dress also comes in white, which is a great option if you're after a easy holiday outfit to pair with sandals or trainers.

Made from organic cotton poplin in hot pink, this halterneck midaxi dress features flattering shirring detail for a perfect fit, while the flowy skirt adds to the breezy feel.

It features gorgeous puffy sleeves, a bow detail back, and swishy A-line skirt. (Yahoo Life UK)

Shop in blue Shop in pink Shop in orange Shop in cream

Available in a similar style in pink, terracotta and cream (without the back ties), this dress is flying off the shelves and it's easy to see why. It's the perfect dress for summer wedding or special occasion, as it ticks all the boxes in terms of style, fit and elegance. I opted for the sky blue colour to complement my eye colour.

There’s so much to love about this dress, but I’ll start with the back of it as it has such a wow factor. It features a square back where you tie the straps into a bow that hangs just above the skirt's zip line. This creates a really lovely silhouette for the back and, most importantly, hides the bra line.

The tie-back also means that you can tighten the dress if you want to be pulled in at the waist more, or loosen it if you want to feel more comfortable as the day goes on. Made from a responsible viscose blend with a touch of linen, it's a nice lightweight fabric. It does crease ever so slightly though, so be aware that the skirt part of the dress may need a quick iron.

While this dress is at one of Nobody's Child's highest price points, coming in at £120, its high quality and luxury-looking details such as the gorgeous puffy sleeves, bow detail back, and swishy A-line skirt elevate it to a flattering and chic masterpiece that made me feel absolutely gorgeous.

Expertly crafted from a responsible viscose blend with a touch of linen, this powder blue number nips in softly at the waist with on-trend puff sleeves and a swishy A-line skirt.
