Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen has been sharing updates from the picturesque Yorkshire hills in his new Channel 5 series, Reuben: Life In The Dales, following the cancellation of Our Yorkshire Farm due to his parents Amanda and Clive Owen's public split.

The young star, along with his girlfriend Sarah Dow, has been captivating viewers with their own spin-off show, which even brought back a familiar face from Our Yorkshire Farm this week. However, it wasn't all rosy for Reuben and Sarah as during a recent episode, the couple faced a sombre moment while on holiday.

Childhood sweethearts Reuben and Sarah, who have known each other since they were kids in Ravenseat, were gearing up for an exciting trip to France a first-time adventure away from their beloved Yorkshire and family. The duo was seen stocking up on French translation books in anticipation of their journey across the Channel, reports the Express.

In a heart-to-heart moment, Reuben asked Sarah: "Looking forward to France? " to which she excitedly replied: "Yeah, I think it will be quite cool. Something different."

But Reuben expressed his reservations, musing: "It will have to be pretty beautiful to be more beautiful than here. It'll be warmer, but I don't think it will be more beautiful." However, tragedy struck later in the episode when Reuben made a heartbreaking discovery during their getaway uncovering that a relative lay at rest on French land.

Our Yorkshire Farm viewers were touched by a poignant moment as Reuben visited a cemetery and had a private moment by a family member's grave. Reflecting on the sacrifice, he said: "He came across here on his first trip, had to fight, and died."

Reuben recently opened up on life after his parents split as he explained to MailOnline: "Yeah, they spoke about it, but it's not really a big deal between any of us. It's quite simple really. Everyone gets along great. It's not really changed for any of us, if you get me... Everyone makes it work. Beyond that, it's not my business. All I want is for them to be happy. That is all that counts."

He praised Clive and Amanda for their work ethic sharing they just "got on with it". "Mum and dad were both there, working away together, doing something with the cows," he remarked.

"That's how it is. Nothing has changed in that regard. They just get on with it. They are both the same really. They get on with whatever jobs need doing. Great role models, really brilliant. Farming away out in the rain and snow. They are really tough, the pair of them."
