Bermuda prepares for Hurricane Fiona

STORY: As of Thursday afternoon, Fiona had maximum sustained winds of 130 miles (215 km) per hour and was about 345 miles (555 km) west-southwest of Bermuda and moving north-northeast at 16 mph (26 kph), the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

A hurricane warning remained in effect for all of Bermuda, home to more than 60,000 people, and the eye of the storm is expected to pass just west of Bermuda on Thursday night, the center said.

Even on its current path, hurricane-force winds could hit the island at 70 mph (110 kph) Thursday night and up to four inches (10.16 cm) of rain are expected.
