Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a double injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool this weekend.

The Reds host Spurs at Anfield this Sunday in one of Jurgen Klopp's final home games as manager. Klopp will step down from his role at the end of the season and is expected to be replaced by incoming new manager Arne Slot from Feyenoord.

Spurs boss Ange Postecogloy addressed the media on Wednesday ahead of Tottenham's clash against Chelsea on Thursday night, reports football.london. Postecogou confirmed that Timo Werner and Ben Davies will miss the remainder of the season due to injuries following Tottenham's loss in the North London Derby against Arsenal on Sunday.

Werner is on loan from RB Leipzig but will be out of action for the rest of the campaign through injury. The striker has scored two goals and three assists in 13 Premier League matches during his loan spell at Spurs.

Furthermore, Spurs are left with a conundrum in their left-back position, as Destiny Udogie is still recovering from surgery. Davies, who is capable of playing at full-back or centre-back, has been ruled out for the foreseeable future, including the game against Liverpool.

“Not good. We've had a couple of injuries," Postecoglou told reporters. "Timo [Werner] with his hamstring. With only two to three weeks or so left, he'll miss the rest of the season. Ben Davies got a calf injury in the game and that's the rest of his season. Skippy [Oliver Skipp] should be back.”

As for Oliver Skipp, who hasn't made a single Premier League appearance since February 3, he sat out the 3-2 defeat against Arsenal because of a minor knock. It remains to be seen if the midfielder will be fit enough to be available to face Liverpool after Spurs' game against Chelsea on Thursday.

All three of Tottenham's left-back options are currently unavailable due to injuries heading into the run-in. Ryan Sessegnon is still on his road to recovery after a series of lengthy setbacks, while Manor Solomon and Fraser Forster are also absent for the rest of the season.
