Arsenal to face Napoli in Europa League quarter-finals, Chelsea drawn with Slavia Prague

Arsenal have been handed a tough tie against Italian high-flyers Napoli following Friday’s Europa League quarter-final draw.

A first all-English since 1972 remains a possibility with Unai Emery’s team and London rivals Chelsea kept apart.

Maurizio Sarri’s men will face Slavia Prague, with a semi-final against Benfica or Eintracht Frankfurt should they progress.

The Gunners would come up against Villarreal or Valencia in the last four if they were to progress.

Emery is bidding to win the trophy for the fourth time as manager having triumphed on three occasions when in charge of Sevilla. Arsenal will play the first leg at home before travelling to Naples for the decider.

Arsenal were initially set to play the first leg at home until Chelsea’s draw meant it had to be rearranged.

The two London clubs are not permitted to play at home on the same night, as would have been the case with the initial draw.

As Chelsea qualified for the competition by winning the FA Cup last season, they were given priority by UEFA.

Arsenal take on a Napoli side who narrowly missed out on qualification from the Champions League group stage after finishing third behind Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool.
