The Europa League returned on Thursday night, with 24 games over and done with and plenty of conclusions to be drawn.

It was a fine night for Manchester United and Arsenal, with both getting off the mark with three points, but Wolves suffered an early blow, a late sucker-punch from Braga condeming Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to defeat.

Celtic endured a frustrating night against Rennes, while Rangers celebrated the life of former captain Fernando Ricksen with victory over Feyenoord.

Further afield there was a surprise win for CFR Cluj against Lazio, while Wolfsberger and Slovan Bratislava showed their quality with impressive victories.
