Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz appear to have developed a strong friendship following the latter's first season at Arsenal. Following his £65million transfer from Chelsea, Havertz looked set to become part of a new-look midfield alongside the club's captain Odegaard and fellow summer signing Declan Rice.

A turbulent first few months in north London came following his arrival but a tactical tweak saw Mikel Arteta get the absolute best out of the German. In the last 14 games of the Premier League season, Havertz really shined with nine goals and six assists to his name.

Odegaard endured a similar campaign with a challenging end to 2023 very quickly forgotten about with the form he showed after the turn of the year. The Norway international was instrumental in Arsenal remaining in the title race with his creativity and eye for a pass a trait of extremely high value.

On the final day of the season against Everton, Odegaard picked up his eleventh assist of the campaign with Havertz benefitting from his wizardry to score the winning goal late on in the game after Takehiro Tomiyasu cancelled out Idrissa Gueye's deflected opener.

While it did not mean much, as Man City's victory over West Ham crowned them champions, it was certainly nice for Arsenal to celebrate another record-breaking season with a win.

The partnership of Odegaard and Havertz on the pitch has now seemingly translated to away from it with the latter posting a picture of the Arsenal duo on holiday. Captioning the Instagram post which showed them playing cards on a boat, Havertz wrote: "[boat emoji] Recharging." Odegaard then replied: "[raised hands emoji] brother."

Havertz looks on for a potentially very busy summer with the 24-year-old set to be in action for host-nation Germany at the 2024 European championships. Odegaard on the other hand, will have plenty of time to rest and recover from a long season with Norway not having qualified for the summer tournament.
