Chelsea are set to embark on a big summer spending spree.

Todd Boehly’s purchase of the club has led a restructuring upstairs and now Thomas Tuchel’s squad is also set for a welcome refresh.

The new owner has put himself in charge of transfer dealings, with Raheem Sterling of Manchester City a key target up top and a new name at the back reportedly now of interest.

Here is your latest update of Chelsea transfer news and rumours...

Matthijs de Ligt

Chelsea are first in line to sign Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports in Italy.

Calciomercato claim Juventus want to reduce De Ligt’s wage while tying him down to a longer-term contract, and Chelsea are monitoring the situation.

Raheem Sterling

Chelsea hope to make Raheem Sterling the first big headline signing of the Todd Boehly era, but the player wants his future resolved sooner rather than later.

Sterling is open to a move to London, where he grew up but, according to the Daily Mail, wants his future to be decided in the next two weeks as he bids to hit the ground running in pre-season.

Chelsea are yet to make contact over a deal, while Barcelona and Real Madrid also hold interest in the England international.

Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea have reached an agreement to let Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan on loan for just £7million, writes Standard Sport’s Giuseppe Muro.

New owner Todd Boehly has facilitated an astonishing season-long deal for the player who cost Chelsea a club-record £97.5m last year.

Lukaku is expected to finalise his return to Inter next week and Chelsea now plan to ramp up their transfer activity as they decide how to replace him.
