Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury update shared as Sean Dyche explains Everton training absence

Everton manager Sean Dyche has confirmed both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto are back in contention for the clash with Luton Town on Friday evening.

Beto has missed the last two games for the Blues after being knocked unconscious during the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Meanwhile, Calvert-Lewin was able to lead the line for Everton in the 2-0 success against Liverpool but then had to sit out the Brentford victory due to illness and a hamstring issue.

Dyche was asked about the fitness of both forwards before the trip to the Hatters on Friday at his press conference today.

"We'll see," said Dyche on Calvert-Lewin. "He was out on the grass today. So we're hopeful for no reaction and therefore he would certainly be in consideration [for Luton]...[Beto] is clear and he trained today."

Dyche also confirmed that club captain Seamus Coleman is back in training after his recent layoff and that James Tarkowski's absence from Wednesday's session was due to the birth of a family member's baby.

Youssef Chermiti started up top for the Blues last time out and he performed well in the 1-0 win over Brentford. Having all three forwards back for Friday's match would be a big boost for Everton as the Hatters have struggled to keep opposition sides out in recent weeks.

Lewis Dobbin, meanwhile, returned from injury with an appearance for the club's under-21s. on Monday And asked whether he too could be involved against Luton, Dyche said: "It's still early. He's had around six weeks out but he played about 65 minutes on Monday - I went over to the game - and we'd like to get him involved sooner rather than later.

"Just before he got injured he had a real chance of playing as he was doing very well. But equally we've got to be fair to his true fitness so he can deliver if and when he gets on the pitch."

While Everton are now confirmed as safe for next season, Luton still have to make up ground on Nottingham Forest if they are to pull clear of trouble. They go into the weekend's fixtures just a point from safety.
