Josh Harrop joined Manchester United in July 2012, and the United supporter made an auspicious start to his career in Warren Joyce’s youth team by scoring four times in 11 starts in 2014/15. His progress with the under-21 team last season was unfortunately curtailed by injuries and he only managed 13 appearances.

This season however, the attacking midfielder has has flourished once again, scoring eight goals in 21 Premier League 2 appearances. He came to Jose Mourinho’s attention last Monday for the under-23 side, scoring a timely hat-trick against Tottenham.

He needed just 15 minutes to announce his arrival with a wonderful finish, after his agility and quick feet opened up an angle to shoot on the right-hand side. There was an unerring confidence in how he ignored well-positioned team-mates to take on the chance himself.
