The viewing figures for the final day of the Premier League season have been revealed with Liverpool pulling in many more eyeballs than Manchester City once the game were completed. Jürgen Klopp's send-off eclipsed Pep Guardiola's side lifting the title for a fourth successive year.

Liverpool vs Wolves, Manchester City vs West Ham and Arsenal vs Everton were all televised in the UK, with the first two matches on Sky Sports and the game at the Emirates picked for TNT Sports. But there were more eyes on Liverpool and Klopp's farewell than Manchester City lifting the Premier League trophy, according to Blinkfire Analytics.

The peak audience for Liverpool vs Wolves was 1.2 million, which was larger than the other two games. As soon as Phil Foden opened the scoring for Manchester City, the chances of West Ham pulling off a surprise win were as good as gone, while it took Arsenal until the 89th minute to go ahead against Everton, with Kai Havertz scoring a late winner that ultimately didn't mean anything.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City streamed their post-match ceremonies live on YouTube as well. Klopp’s farewell received around 44 per cent more views than the trophy lift at the Etihad Stadium on that platform, reflecting the larger fanbase that the Reds have around the world.

Liverpool's Klopp farewell had 70 per cent more television viewers than Manchester City lifting the Premier League trophy. Despite the Reds not being involved in the title race, that was the story of the day with the likelihood of Arsenal being able to overhaul the lead that Guardiola's men had built always being very slim.

"I’m completely surprised," Klopp said at the start of his speech. "I thought I’m already in pieces, to be honest, but I’m not. I’m so happy, I can’t believe it. I’m so happy about you all, about the atmosphere, about the game, about being part of this family, about us, how we celebrated this day. It’s just incredible. Thank you so much."

He would later go on to announce Arne Slot as his replacement a day before Liverpool officially unveiled the Dutchman. Klopp led the chants of 'Arne Slot, na, na, na, na,' though many inside Anfield hadn't realized that he was singing that until later plenty had assumed he was singing his own name.
