Laura Muir has run another 1500m world lead at the ISTAF Berlin, crossing the finish line in an incredible 3:57:40. This is now the fifth victory in a row for the Scottish middle distance runner, who also set a new British 1000m record just three weeks ago.

She was closely followed by Laura Weightman, who finished in second place with a personal best of 4:00.07.

Muir took to Twitter afterwards to comment on her performance and to celebrate the achievement of her friend, writing, “Fab race in Berlin in tonight. World lead for me and a PB for Laura Weightman.”

The 27-year-old Olympian was excited to compete in the German capital, which is home to her ‘favourite stadium.’ She will wrap up her season this Thursday, to race in the 800m in the Rome Diamond League.
