Liverpool's transfer chiefs are reportedly working on three fresh additions to boost Arne Slot's starting XI as he looks to usher in a new era at Anfield.

The Dutchman has assumed the reins on Merseyside after the departure of Jurgen Klopp following nine glorious years in the Reds hotseat. The former Feyenoord head coach will likely not be the only new arrival at the club this summer either, with Football Insider claiming that recruitment staff are currently working on multiple potential leads.

Their report contends that their squad could be boosted by three signings for the upcoming campaign after what has been a quieter start to the window for the Reds. With Liverpool not troubled by the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) deadline on June 30, the club has been under no discernible pressure to make any significant movements in the market.

However, that does not mean that the rumors linking the Merseysiders with a plethora of leading talents have died down in recent weeks. Despite many of the world's top stars currently taking part in the Euro 2024 and Copa America tournaments with their respective countries, it appears that some progress has been made in terms of identifying potential targets.

Among those speculated to be drawn glances from Anfield dealmakers is Bologna center-back Riccardo Calafiori, with the 22-year-old having caught the eye while playing for his country this summer in Germany, as per the Athletic. In addition, another link that has proven strong in the past month is Liverpool's interest in Lille defender Leny Yoro, as per the Liverpool ECHO.

In terms of midfielders, Mundo Deportivo has also previously mooted that the Reds are among those interested in the signature of Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich. Meanwhile, the agent of Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte tacitly admitted to Portuguese outlet O Jogo that Liverpool is among a host of potential destinations for his client this summer too.

Perhaps the most tangible link of the window so far came as the Reds were offered the chance to sign Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon, however. According to The Telegraph, the England winger's head was turned by the whispers of a potential switch to Anfield, with the talks breaking down as the Magpies wanted Jarrell Quansah to go the other way in any such deal - as per Mirror Football.

It does remain to be seen what players will eventually make the move to Liverpool this summer but it seems that new head coach Slot is looking forward to working with sporting director Richard Hughes on transfer matters moving forward. He said: "Me and Richard are going to work together when it comes to transfers but not only the two of us – there is a big backroom staff included in this as well.

"I think for me it is the way I have worked always and it for me is the ideal way of working because I can use the most of my time by working with the team and the time that is left will probably be a bit for the family and a bit to talk with Richard about how we can strengthen the team. But we already have a really strong team."
