All of Jose Mourinho’s signings at Manchester United have increased in value, according to a new study…including struggling Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez.

The boffins at the CIES Football Observatory have estimated the price of every player from Europe’s top clubs, and according to them every one of Mourinho’s new arrivals at Old Trafford could now command a higher fee now.

And that includes club record signing Pogba and January arrival Sanchez, both of whom have failed to perform consistently at the level they should be for their transfer values.

The French playmaker arrived for £89m in the summer of 2016 and despite having been dropped by Mourinho in recent weeks for underperforming, his value has risen to £127m.

Sanchez, meanwhile, was valued at £60m when he arrived as part of a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal at the start of the year and already seen his value rise to £85.1m despite some serious struggles to fit in.

Mourinho’s other signings have also increased in value, with Romelu Lukaku the standout name. His 32 goals in 48 games for club and country since arriving from Everton for £75m have seen his price tag rise to £142m.

Other Mourinho signings Victor Lindelof (£31m to £44m), Eric Bailly (£30m to £42.9m) and Nemanja Matic (£40m to £55m) have also gone up in price, while some longer serving names have seen their values decrease. Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini are cheaper now than when they signed.

Then there’s Luke Shaw who, after two years of public cricitism from Mourinho, is down to a £10.3m valuation from £27m.

But academy products Marcus Rashford (£96.5m), Jesse Lingard (£48.9m) and Scott McTominay (£12m) are all healthy values while David de Gea is rated at £41m, following his £18.9m move from Atletico Madrid seven years ago and will become the most expensive goalkeeper in history if he heads to Real Madrid this summer.

Mourinho may well want to use these valuations when he comes to ask the United board for an increased transfer kitty this summer.
