PREMIER LEAGUE: Daniel Sturridge, is he still worth the investment?

PREMIER LEAGUE: Daniel Sturridge, is he still worth the investment?

Daniel Sturridge has now spent more than half of his Liverpool career either injured or ill.

According to the Telegraph, since signing in January 2013, Sturridge has spent 564 days out of 1061 in the injury ward - an astonishing 53 per cent of the time.

The forward's Liverpool career has been littered with injuries, with Sturridge suffering 17 separate spells on the sidelines ever since he moved to Anfield.

He has had issues with his quadricep, hamstring, thigh and hip injuries being his most frequent downfall - he has had particular problems with a troublesome hip flexor muscle - while his ankles have also caused him many issues.

Sturridge did made his long-awaited - and much delayed - return to the Reds' matchday squad against Swansea on Sunday, and Liverpool fans will be hoping he can string a long run of matches together.

That's because Liverpool win 60% of the matches Sturridge plays in, compared to just 45% when he is unavailable.
