Sunday's Daily Fantasy Gameweek 26 must-haves and must-nots

This Sunday & Monday we have just 2 Premier League fixtures because Manchester United face Southampton in the League Cup final. This fixture means that 2 Premier League fixtures had to be suspended and they will be played later in the season, resulting in some interesting double gameweeks on the horizon. So, who are the must-haves and must-nots from the Spurs vs Stoke and Leicester vs Liverpool fixtures?

Must Haves

Defenders

Out of the two fixtures, it’s tough to see if there are going to be any clean sheets but if you were a betting man, then you would go with Spurs and Liverpool to pick them up if any of the teams were to do so. Spurs have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 whilst Liverpool have only kept the 1 in the same time. With that being said, Spurs’ defensive cover should be a must, with Hugo Lloris being the keeper of choice. Kyle Walker and Nathaniel Clyne may also be good picks this week, not only for their clean sheet potential but also for their ability to get forward and potentially pick up a goal or an assist.

Midfielders

In the middle of the park, there are a few decent options this weekend. Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have been in stunning form of late, with both of them picking up assists during the FA Cup victory last weekend. With a game against Stoke, both will be looking to impress once again. Liverpool are also the favourites for victory against Leicester on Monday and since Sadio Mane has come back from the AFCON, he has been instrumental, especially with his 2 goals against Spurs last gameweek.

With a hat-trick in the FA Cup last weekend, Harry Kane will be in amongst many fantasy football teams this weekend, and with good reason too. The Englishman will be looking to add to his 4 goals and 1 assist from his last 5 games against Stoke this weekend and join the hunt for the golden boot. If you fancy a bit of a gamble, then Peter Crouch could also be a good punt. The friendly giant managed to pick up his 100th goal a couple of weeks ago and if anyone can find the back of the net for Stoke, then you’d fancy it to be him.

Must Nots

Defenders

Leicester City have been a must-not most of this season when it comes to fantasy football, and there is no exception this weekend. The Foxes host Liverpool, who will be looking to pick up another win to get them back on track and in the title hunt. With that being said, last year’s fantasy football favourites; Wes Morgan, Christian Fuchs and co should all be avoided this week. The Leicester back line have only managed 5 clean sheets all season, with no clean sheet in their last 5.

Midfielders

In midfield, there are a couple of must nots. Continuing the Leicester City theme, Riyad Mahrez and co should all be avoided. The Algerian has the potential to score and win a game on his own, but he has quite frankly gone missing this season. Maybe he will start to find some form later on this season but until then, a definite avoid. Joe Allen is another inconsistent player, as at times he has been incredible for Stoke this season. However, with a tough fixture against Spurs, it may be wise to steer clear this week.

Forwards

Leicester City now find themselves in a relegation scrap, and this weekend it doesn’t get any easier with a fixture against Liverpool! Jamie Vardy is a must not this week, as the Leicester City forward is really struggling to find the back of the net. In his last 7 games, he has failed to produce any attacking returns whatsoever. To find his last attacking return, you need to go back to Leicester’s impressive but random win over title chasers Manchester City at the beginning of December!
