Tottenham XI vs Leicester: Kane starts but Bale on the bench - starting lineup and team news
Gareth Bale is on the bench for what could be his final match as a Tottenham player at Leicester City this afternoon, while Harry Kane starts as expected.
Bale did not start Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa and again misses out to Steven Bergwijn in the front four after the Dutchman’s brilliant goal.
There is no Giovano Lo Celso today, but Matt Doherty does earn a first start under interim head coach Ryan Mason.
On Wednesday, Doherty replaced Japhet Tanganga, who has suffered ligament damage, but Serge Aurier was also in contention to return at right-back.
Sergio Reguilon endured a nightmare evening midweek, scoring an own goal and losing possession in the build-up to Ollie Watkins’s winner but with Ben Davies still injured the Spaniard keeps his place on the left side of defence.
Mason already said Kane would be involved in what could be his final appearance for his boyhood club, with the England captain keen to move to a club where he can consistently challenge for silverware in the summer.
