Something strange is happening this weekend, West Bromwich Albion are coming into a Premier League game having won their previous game, which has not happened since late August. Just like last time, The Baggies came off the back of a win in a domestic cup competition, winning against Accrington Stanley in the Carabao Cup.

On that occasion, West Brom could only manage a home draw with Stoke City, but this time a draw will not be good enough for Albion in their current situation. After a win against Exeter City in the FA Cup last week, which was Tony Pardew’s first win as Head Coach and West Brom’s first win in all competitions for a club record 21 games, West Brom are desperate for a win in the Premier League.

On Saturday, they take on Brighton at home, in what is surely a must-win game if the club are to gain some momentum in their quest for Premier League safety. Chris Hughton’s side haven’t won away from home since early November, and were on a four-game losing run away from home until their goalless draw with Newcastle last time out.

Our strikers are finally scoring, with both Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez on the scoresheet against Exeter, and even James McClean chipped in with a deflected goal against West Ham. The Baggies aren’t going to care where the goals come from, they just need to score one more than Brighton do on Saturday!

I would like to see Alan Pardew stay brave with his team selection, with Barry and Brunt offering the creativity from midfield, with James McClean and Matt Phillips (subject to injury) offering pace and crosses from the wide areas.

West Brom haven’t won a Premier League game since the 19th August, and boy could they do with another one on Saturday.

Boing Boing!

Predicted team:

Foster, Dawson, Hegazi, Evans, Gibbs, Phillips, McClean, Brunt, Barry, Phillips, Rodriguez, Rondon.
