Rangers have confirmed they've lost Zeb Jacobs to Feyenoord after the youth chief agreed a move to the Dutch giants.

We told you last week how the 29-year-old was being lined up for a position at the Eredivisie club and now the move has been given the rubber-stamp and confirmed by the club. Jacobs moved to Ibrox three years ago to become their head of academy coaching before being promoted last year and that coincided with Feyenoord's chief, Rini Coolen, planning to depart at the end of this season.

According to reports in the Netherlands, there was a clause in the Belgian's contract that would permit him to leave after just one months' notice period and now that, so says 1908.nl, has been taken advantage of by Feyenoord. And now Gers have issued a statement on social media, writing: "#RangersFC can confirm Academy Director Zeb Jacobs will leave the club at the end of the season for Feyenoord. Zeb will leave Rangers with the best wishes of everyone at the club."

Jacobs is believed to have impressed club executives during his interview process and he has now given the thumbs up to a switch from Glasgow.

Feyenoord did not have to approach Gers for permission due to his contract and according to the same publication they were not the only club interested.

Manchester City were namedropped as an outfit also keen on taking Jacobs to the Ettihad, but he opted for De Kuip.
