Anthony Joshua becomes the latest victim of the 'Drake curse'

PSG, Sergio Aguero, Borussia Dortmund and Conor McGregor are just a few who have been affected by the Drake curse and now, it has struck yet again.

Underdog Andy Ruiz Jr. knocked out undefeated heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and an old tweet from the British star very quickly came out of the woodwork.

The Canadian rapper is known for visiting sports stars before their big events, but they don’t always do well once he’s met them.

English youngster Jadon Sancho met the 32-year old just before Borussia Dortmund’s clash with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season and his team were then thrashed 5-0 by their title rivals.

The UFC’s Connor McGregor took to the octagon to face Khabib Nurmagomedov after being pictured with Drake and was then beaten by the Russian and PSG suffered their heaviest defeat in 19 years, losing 5-1 to Lille in Ligue 1 after defender Layvin Kurzawa tweeted about meeting the star.

Joshua’s tweet from March showed Joshua in confident mood, with the 29-year-old saying, “Bout to break the curse”.

But in one of the greatest shocks in heavyweight boxing history, Joshua was beaten by the Mexican, losing his three belts and reducing the chance of a meeting with Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury in the immediate future.

The tweet, which started the night with just 19 replies, has since found new viral life and has over 18 thousand retweets.
