Sunday's Daily Fantasy Gameweek 21 must-haves and must-nots

The Saturday of Gameweek 21 sees 8 Premier League fixtures, but it is commonly said that “good things come to those who wait” and this could be true this week as our two Sunday fixtures are Everton vs Manchester City and Manchester United vs Liverpool. With only 2 fixtures, this series of must haves and must nots may be a little shorter than usual, but here are our top picks of the gameweek.

Must Haves

Defence

Manchester United are on quite a winning streak and with a potentially tough fixture against Liverpool this weekend, they will look to their defence this weekend. With Liverpool struggling for goals in the recent week, David De Gea, Antonio Valencia and co will be good picks. Everton arguably go into the fixture against Man City as underdogs and although there may not be a clean sheet in this fixture, Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines always look to provide some attacking threat. Baines has actually returned a goal, an assist and 2 clean sheets in Everton’s last 3 matches!

Midfielders

Roberto Firmino has faced criticism over his poor form recently but with Sadio Mane off to the AFCON, Jurgen Klopp will look to the Brazilian to fill the void. Firmino has managed to find the back of the net on 6 occasions this season from midfield and will look to make the difference against Man United this weekend. Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne has scored twice and created 11 goals this season, which is a cracking record, and he will look to continue that form as City face Everton this week.

Forwards

Sergio Aguero is back from his suspension and is already back in and amongst the goals. Facing a tough fixture against Everton this week, it will take a big player to find the back of the net and there aren’t many bigger in the Premier League than the Argentine. Another expensive fantasy football asset is Zlatan Ibrahimovic and just like Aguero, the Swede always looks to find the back of the net. With 5 goals and 4 assists in his last 5, he looks to be irreplaceable.

Must Nots

Defence

John Stones has really struggled to find form this season. At times he show touches of class, but he also looks to have a mistake in him. Playing Everton this week, Man City could grab a clean sheet but if they do, it’s unlikely the English centre back will have anything to do with it as he has only been able to see out 1 clean sheet all season!

Midfielders

Stones’ team mate and international compatriot, Raheem Sterling, has been hit and miss this season. Sterling started the season extremely well, but his form has dipped somewhat and with a tough fixture against Everton, he’d be one to avoid this week. Ross Barkley is another player that can go through hot and cold patches of form and coming up against City on Sunday, he’d be another to avoid.

Forwards

Sunday’s fixtures don’t exactly have a ‘must not’ striker, with Ibrahimovic, Aguero, Lukaku and Sturridge all having the potential to find the back of the net. However, out of the forwards that are likely to play, Daniel Sturridge would be the one to avoid, with his form not exactly shining and he is always likely to pick up an injury in the warm up!
